Description
Negombo Bus Terminal is one of Sri Lanka’s best, and municipal planners throughout the country view it as an example of how a bus stand should be built.
The three-story terminal was completed in 2008, after Western Province Minister for Transport and Highways Nimal Lanza persuaded the Government to provide the final Rs60 million to finish the Rs230 million project.
Nearly 40,000 passengers and more than 500 private and CTB buses use the terminal every day on routes including major destinations such as Colombo, Kandy, Kurunegala, Kegalle, Ratnapura, Avissawella, Mannar, Kalpitiya, Tangalle, Kekirawa, Hatton, Balangoda, Kataragama, Kuliyapitiya, Chilaw, and Ja-Ela.
